It takes a special group of people to make it all happen. The team behind the delicious small-batch craft coffee, mochas, and cocoas is Fireside's heartbeat. We're excited to introduce you and help you get to know them.

What drew you to working at a coffee shop/barista-ing and how long have you been with Fireside?
“I’ve been an avid coffee drinker and enjoyer for as long as I can remember. Whenever I started looking for jobs in high school, I was drawn to all the coffee shops because I figured the perfect job would be doing something that you love. Honestly this job has been like a dream. I get to do something that I love and work with some of the best people I’ve ever known.”
***Nakia is also very creative and a gifted artist. You’ll find Nakia’s work throughout Fireside on our chalkboard welcome sign, latte art, and doodles on to-go cups.
You have a “latte” artistic talents; what mediums/types of art do you enjoy?
“I’m currently going to school to pursue my K-12 Studio Art major with a minor in Art History, so it’s safe to say I have an appreciation for all forms of art! Personally I’ve enjoyed working in acrylic paints, pencil, and chalk pastels so far in my artistic endeavors, but there is still so much out there I want to experiment and play with. I’ve also dabbled in textiles, and I really like sitting down to knit or sew every once in a while."
Nakia’s go to drink is the Flint Strong Cold Brew with vanilla and oat milk. “When I’m feeling extra fancy I really enjoy our Sweet Carmello or a refreshing bubble tea (especially the Taro).“
What do you enjoy most about your work at Fireside?
“Definitely the people. Working here, I’ve met and worked with some of the best people I’ve ever known, and served some of the best as well. Everyday I always look forward to seeing and catching up with our regulars as well possibly being able to introduce this whole ever-expanding “Fireside world” to new customers who come in daily. This job is one of the most rewarding I’ve had so far in my life; it’s just always a good time!”
